Photos from deadly altercation involving Bexar County Deputies have been released

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar has released photos of a deadly encounter between a troubled 31 year old combat veteran and County deputies.

Deputies were called to a home on Liberty Field on Tuesday and tried to help Damian Daniels.

Salazar says that during communication with Daniels, deputies noticed he was armed.
A situation that is made clear in photos he shared of the altercation.

“That bulge that you see in Mr. Daniels’ shirt, that’s the glock that he was in possession of.”

The situation escalated and during a struggle Daniels tried grabbing a deputy’s gun. That’s when another deputy shot him twice in the torso.

The three deputies who were involved in the altercation have been placed on administrative leave, a practice that is standard procedure.

Sheriff Salazar says two investigations are underway.
