SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An affidavit providing more information about the night Atatiana Jefferson was shot and killed by a Fort Worth police officer has been released.

According to the affidavit, Jefferson was playing video games with her young nephew when police responded to her house last weekend. They were there because a neighbor called with concerns about her door being open.

The nephew is quoted in the affidavit as saying when his aunt heard noises coming from outside.

Jefferson who was a concealed carry permit holder,  took a handgun from her purse and pointed it towards the window

That’s when now-ex officer Aaron Dean shot her.

He resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department and was charged with murder on Monday. Dean is currently is free on bond.
