Police investigating possible terroristic threat against local high school on social media

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a possible threat was made on Instagram against East Central High School.

In a Wednesday post to Facebook, BCSO says deputies were called to the campus to assist the East Central Independent School District Police Department (ECISD PD). Getting the attention of the district and law enforcement was a post showing guns that read, “East central cast and south campus here I come.”

Students reported the post to administration who later connected it to an ECHS student.

Police went to the student’s home to talk to their parents, and they denied posting the content. Investigators were told the student did not own any devices that would be connected to Instagram. After allowing police to search the residence, no guns were found related to the post.

BCSO is reminding parents that all threats are taken seriously.
The investigation into who did post the threatening content is ongoing.
