ORIGINAL STORY:

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man is in a standoff with police at a home on the Southwest side.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus says it all began at around 10 P.M. Thursday when the man told a friend that he had hurt his roommate.

Officers later learned that was true when they found the roommate’s body in a different location.

Police arrived at the home on Bright Valley at around midnight but the man refused to come out.

McManus says officers could see the man through a window and observed him using what looks to be a box cutter to cut himself on the neck.

Officers on the scene believe the man is still alive and they continue to try to get him to come out of the house.

His name and the name of the victim haven’t been released.

We will provide updates on this story as they became available.
