Police: San Antonio Water System employee finds badly decomposed body at water treatment facility

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio Water System employee made a gruesome discovery Saturday morning.

Police say the employee was checking a water diversion tank at Leon Creek Water Recycling Facility at around 9 a.m. when they spotted a body floating in the tank.

The San Antonio Fire Department’s Hazmat Team arrived to remove the body from the sewage tank.

Officials say they body was badly decomposed but there was no sign of foul play.

Another worker reportedly found a backpack containing credit cards ad cellphones the day before. Investigators ran a search of the name on the credit cards and found out the owner had been reported missing.

Police haven’t released the person’s name but the investigation continues.
