Poteet High School band director accused of stalking and inappropriately touching student

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The band director at Poteet High School was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly improperly touching a child.

The Pleasanton Express reported that a high school student said Joe Rodriguez had been making advances at her for the past year.

She told investigators that Rodriguez would make indecent comments to her and also inappropriately touched her one day.  When she called him out on it, he would respond that he was only joking.  The student said Rodriguez would drive by her house and look for her at her job.

Texas Rangers were involved in the investigation.  Two warrants were issued for Rodriguez Thursday afternoon and he turned himself in later in the day to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez faces a count of indecency with a child by sexual contact and a count of improper relations between a teacher and student.
