SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Protesters and those protesting the protesters showed up outside San Antonio’s Aztec Theater Tuesday night as a Christmas show featuring entertainers in drag took the stage.

It was around when a group of armed protesters with a group called This is Texas Freedom Force began lining the sidewalk, saying they had concerns that the show did not have an age limit for attendees.

Across the street, more armed protesters who supported the show and the performers.
A spokesperson for the group supporting the drag performers saying they brought weapons because they heard the other protesters were armed.

Ramon Garza, Vice President of This is Texas Freedom Force tells KENS 5 the group is not going against LGBTQ.

“We are saying that we do not like that these shows are not age restricted, and that’s a primary reason we are here.”

The San Antonio Police Department released a statement assuring the public that they are committed to keeping everyone safe while protecting constitutionally protected rights to free speech

Protesters on both sides avoided physical confrontation and there were no reports of an arrests.
