SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man suspected in the fatal shooting of a San Antonio restaurant manager has had the murder charges against him dropped.

That’s according to court records obtained by KSAT-12.

Joshua Albert was arrested and charged with the July 7 murder of Daniel Shrewsbury, who was the manager of the Sonic Drive-In on Babcock Road.

But the KSAT report states the murder charge was dismissed November 12, and Albert remains behind bars at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.

Albert was with two women the night Shrewsbury was killed.

Police say they were trying to pay for their food order with counterfeit money, but Shrewsbury spotted the fake bills and refused to take them.

The trio went inside the restaurant and took some cash from a cup.

Shrewsbury followed them outside and took a picture of their license plate.

Albert reportedly told Shrewsbury he was going to get shot, and that’s when one of the women, identified as 17-year-old Adiah Namir Roberson, got out of the car and shot Shrewsbury.

He died at the scene.

Roberson was on the run for 3 months, until she was captured in Dallas in October.

The shooting remains under investigation.
