Report: San Antonio Police Officer suspended for 30 days after sending sexually charged text messages to married woman while on duty
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio police officer is serving a 30-day suspension for exchanging sexually explicit text messages with a married woman.
KSAT-12 reports Officer Mark Castillo had been assigned to Chief McManus’s security detail, until the woman’s husband discovered the messages between Castillo and his wife.
Her husband called 9-1-1 when he saw the texts.
KSAT’s report indicates that Castillo would send the texts while he was working in close proximity to the chief.
The woman told KSAT that she and the officer never had intercourse, but did kiss in a vehicle.
The officer was initially suspended for 45 days, but that was reduced to 30 days following a meeting with the chief. he has also been reassigned to the department’s vehicle crimes unit.
