Resident on San Antonio’s North side dies in early morning fire

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA  News) — An elderly woman and two of her pets were killed in a fire that burned through a home on San Antonio’s North side.

The fire was called in by a neighbor who was leaving for work at around 4 A.M. Tuesday.

They noticed the flames coming from the home in the 100 block of Rilla Vista drive.

Firefighters arrived quickly and ran into the building to save the woman but she had already passed away.

They also found a dog and a cat that had died but were able to rescue some of the woman’s other pets.

The fire was extinguished quickly and the cause is under investigation.
