Residents at San Antonio nursing home evacuated when fire breaks out, no injuries reported

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — 80 residents at a Northeast Side nursing home had to be evacuated when a fire broke out at the facility.

The San Antonio Fire Department says they were called to Regent Care Center Oakwell Farms on Laurens Lane at around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Staff were able to evacuate all of the residents while crews put out the fire.

It appears the fire started in a box of greasy rags that were in the kitchen.

No injuries were reported and all of the residents were safely returned to their rooms when the fire was out.
