SAN ANTONIO (Texas News Radio) — A Round Rock man convicted of kidnapping two girls and sexually assaulting one of them in late 2017 will learn his sentence Tuesday.
Terry Miles was convicted in February of two counts of kidnapping, a count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in sex with her and one count of interstate travel with intent to engage in sex with a minor.
Federal prosecutors say they believe Miles killed the girls’ mother, Tonya Bates, by bludgeoning her head with a flashlight before taking the girls to Colorado.
Miles was found there in early 2018 during a traffic stop after a multi-state AMBER alert was issued for the missing girls.
He faces up to life in prison.
