SAFD Battles Several Early Morning Fires

A busy Thursday Morning for San Antonio firefighters… and Mother Nature had a hand in at least some of it.

Lightning is to blame for at least one of those fires… at a home near Vance Jackson and Wurzbach Road.

“It had actually rolled through the attic, and burned through there–and almost put itself out before it caught the garage on fire” said Deborah Foster with the San Antonio Fire Department, who told KTSA News everyone inside of that home managed to make it out safely.

“The family of four had gotten out, and the dad was actually trying to fight the fire when we got there” Foster said.

Another fire on the Southside damaged a home on Wrangler View.

A third fire left a duplex on Eleanor Avenue–near Broadway in the Downtown area–in ruins.
