San Antonio Police arrest driver following a high speed chase that reached 100 miles per hour

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Police have arrested a man after a high speed chase through parts of San Antonio.

This started at around 12:30 with an alert sent out by the Lufkin Police Department.

It was concerning the kidnapping of a woman and police tracked her cell phone to San Antonio’s East Side.

The SAPD spotted the vehicle thought to be involved in the kidnapping but when they tried to stop it, the driver sped off.

As the chase made it’s way to the South side of town speeds got up to 100 miles per hour.

The driver slowed down near South Presa but just long enough for two people to jump out of the vehicle before speeding up again.

The man then called his mom and told her he would stop if the officers chasing him backed off.

They did and the man pulled over on Interstate 10. He was taken into custody.

Police are still searching for the two people who jumped out of the vehicle.

The woman who was reportedly kidnapped is still missing as well.
