San Antonio based Whataburger rates high in regional fast food survey

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — We admit, this is something you likely know already but if anything, this story will give you the chance to say “I told you so” to that one pesky person you know that doesn’t like Whataburger.

A new survey by USA Today says the Texas born burger chain is better than In-N-Out Burger.

That finding was part of the newspaper’s 2019 10-Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Whataburger was ranked Number 3 in the category of Best Regional Fast Food, and California-based In-N-Out Burger trailed at Number 5.

It was a panel of experts who selected 20 nominees, and a popular vote by USA Today readers did the rest.

But……..

California can still brag about having the number 1 choice with a Santa Barbara based chain called Habit Burger.

The rest of the Top 5:

Number 2 is Pal’s Sudden Service in northeast Tennessee, then San Antonio based Whataburger at #3. That’s followed by Sheetz at #4. They’re a Pennsylvania based chain similar to the QT locations we see around San Antonio.

In-N-Out comes in at #5.
