SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It’s called the “Reproductive Justice Fund”, and it’ getting a half million dollar boost courtesy of San Antonio city council.

KSAT-12 reports council members voted Thursday to approve nearly $500,000 for the controversial program.

The money will be distributed to four local non-profits and will be used for sex ed in high schools, sexually transmitted infection tests, access to contraceptives and reproductive health workshops, and prenatal care.

It will not be used to pay for travel costs for women who travel to another state for an abortion.

The fund was started 2 years ago, after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
