SAN ANONIO (KTSA News) — A proposal for a new downtown baseball stadium will be the topic of a special session of the San Antonio city council Thursday.
The plan calls for the $160 million stadium to be built in the San Pedro Creek Culture Park area with the cost being split between the city, Bexar County and the San Antonio Missions baseball team.
The new stadium would seat 4,500 for baseball games with a capacity of 7,000 for other events.
The Missions would use the facility of 70 home games each season which opens the stadium for other non-professional sporting events.
The new stadium would be completed by 2028, if it’s approved.
A public hearing will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday.
