San Antonio City Council to vote on resolution concerning ‘gun violence’

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – The San Antonio City Council on Thursday will vote on a resolution  concerning gun violence.   The agenda item calls on  Governor Greg Abbott to call a special session of the Texas Legislature to address gun violence.

The non-binding resolution also urges the U.S. Senate to start debating H.R. 8 and other gun safety legislation and resolves that the city council will identify actions and policies at the local level to enhance the safety of local residents.

The city council meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Municipal Plaza Building and the resolution is the fourth item on the agenda.
