San Antonio coronavirus case count decreases by 95

BEXAR COUNTY, Tex. (KTSA News) — San Antonio Metro Health said Sunday the total number of people who tested positive for coronavirus decreased by 95.

And there were 524 new positive cases reported Sunday.

Yes, both are true, as San Antonio assistant city manager and interim Metro Health director Dr. Colleen Bridger explained in a statement:

“Today, the City of San Antonio is reporting 524 new cases of COVID-19. However, in preparation for converting to the Texas Health Trace data system this week, Metro Health has re-screened and removed duplicate cases resulting from people testing at multiple different facilities. In sum, the total number of cases has decreased by 95 from yesterday’s total.”

In addition to the increase/decrease in positive COVID-19 cases, the city announced 16 new deaths, with 13 of those deaths happening between July 4th and July 22nd, but were only reported to the health department Sunday.
