San Antonio, Corpus Christi schools receive over $50,000 in grants

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Schools in San Antonio and Corpus Christi now have checks in hand after a check presentation on Thursday.

The money comes from the TEXAS YES Grant, which is made possible by a partnership with injury attorney and philanthropist Thomas J. Henry through his TEXAS STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Arts, and Mathematics) initiative.

More than 100 applications were received between August 1 through September 30, 2023. At Thursday’s ceremony, seven schools from San Antonio and two from Corpus Christi took checks totaling more than $52,000.

Over the past two years, TEXAS YES has awarded a total amount of $419,160 in YES Grants and has impacted over 47,500 students across Texas. YES Grants focus on updating classroom equipment such as computers and library books.
