San Antonio Fire Department: Fire claims one house, damages second on city’s East Side, no injuries reported

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A fire on the city’s East Side has destroyed one home and firefighters are working to save another.

The San Antonio Fire Department says they were called to the 2500 block of Schley Avenue at around 4:30 A.M. Monday.

Flames and smoke were pouring from the home when they arrived.

While they were working to save the home, the flames spread to a house next door.

Crews then began spraying water on the second home as they worked to keep the fire from destroying it as well.

At this point it appears the fire started in a car port but the exact cause hasn’t been determined.

No injuries have been reported.

This is a developing story.
