San Antonio Fire Department releases animated video to educate children during Fire Prevention Week

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Just in time for Fire Prevention Week. The San Antonio Fire Department has released an animated Public Service Announcement for children.

It’s called “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety” and it teaches the importance of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

The department released this statement when announcing the release of the video:

” Children can learn to sleep through the noises of life; dishwashers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, television sets, and many other types of noise. Help them learn the sounds of fire safety.”

The video shows a boy surrounded by household items, all making noise and drowning out the sound of the smoke alarm.

It educates children on what they should do when they hear an alarm.

The video is posted online so that you can watch it with your children.
