Texas drivers are ringing in 2019 with another drop in gasoline prices.

Joshua Zuber at Triple A Texas is reporting the statewide average for a gallon of regular unleaded is down to $1.93.

“San Antonio drivers are seeing a drop of 4 cents in the past week. The average is $1.86.”

Zuber tells us we are likely to enjoy these lower prices through most of January.

Texas retail gasoline prices have been dropping since mid-October due to falling crude oil prices. It remains unclear how long prices will continue to fall, as OPEC recently decided to make changes that will likely lead to higher oil prices in 2019. Crude oil prices have been declining due to an abundance of supply on the global market.
