San Antonio man arrested for killing two people, believed to be his parents

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio police were called to a Northwest side apartment complex Sunday afternoon where a man gunned down two people who are believed to be his parents.

It was just after 12 Noon when an officer who had responded to a traffic accident at 3800 Parkdale heard the gunshots from an apartment complex across the street.

When he arrived he found two people, a man and a woman on the ground, dead from gunshot wounds.

He also spotted a man holding a shotgun.

The man, later identified as 20 year old Michael Burger, ducked between some vehicles and the officer called for backup.

Burger refused to drop his gun and the officer fired a few rounds. Burger wasn’t hit but he did surrender his weapon.

He was taken into custody and charged with capital murder.

The officer will remain on active duty as he did not injure Burger when he fired at him.

At this point it’s not known why Burger killed the couple. Police will continue investigating.
