San Antonio man arrested in connection to postal robberies

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man is accused of robbing postal workers locally and in Austin.

Tony Evans, 24, was arrested Monday in connection to three separate robberies of U.S. Postal Service letter carriers.

Officials said that Evans approached the USPS letter carriers and demanded postal keys. On two of the occasions, officials said Evans threatened the victims with a gun.

Police said Evans robbed USPS workers in San Antonio in July and August 2021 and then in Austin last month.

Evans is charged with robbery of mail, money, or property of the United States and had his first court appearance Tuesday.
