San Antonio man sentenced to life in prison for sexually abusing young girl for seven years

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It’s life in prison for a San Antonio man found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl for 7 years.

The Bexar County District Attorney’s Office announced 46 year old Mario Morales was sentenced Monday.

He began abusing his victim in 2011. She was 8 years old at the time.

The abuse continued for years and when the girl turned 15, she came forward to report him.

Morales had previously been convicted of child sexual abuse when San Antonio Police began investigating.

After the sentencing, Bexar County District Attorney released a statement:

“As parents, we often worry about strangers doing harm to our children. This defendant was known and trusted by this young girl’s family. Her bravery in speaking up and standing up to this defendant in court is commendable. The jury’s verdict sends a clear message to this young lady and Bexar County that we do not want people who prey on our children in this community.”
