San Antonio man shoots, kills neighbor on Christmas Day

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man is charged with murder after shooting and killing his neighbor on Christmas morning.

According to San Antonio police, 28-year-old Mason Sayer Lubitz opened fire on a 24-year-old man around 11:40 a.m. on Saturday at an apartment complex on the Northside.

Lubitz was reportedly in an ongoing dispute with the unidentified neighbor and the shooting took place in the hallway between their apartments. Police did not provide details on the dispute.

Police reported that because Lubitz remained in his apartment after the shooting, they were unable to provide the 24-year-old with medical assistance and he was pronounced dead after the suspect surrendered.

Lubitz remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
