San Antonio man stabs person who asked him for lighter

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man is in jail after he stabbed a person who asked him for a light.

According to police, 25-year-old Dominick Leach was standing outside of a home in far West Bexar County around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday with the victim.

The victim was reportedly at the home to reconcile an argument with a relative of Leach that lived there.

Police said the victim asked Leach if he had a lighter so the victim could light a cigarette. Leach reportedly handed the victim the lighter and stabbed him at the same time.

The victim was able to flee from Leach and was eventually treated by first responders.

Police executed an arrest warrant against Leach on Sunday and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

He remains in the Bexar County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
