San Antonio man tries to burn down home after he was evicted

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio man who was thrown out of his home thought he was leaving in a blaze of glory but he ended up smoldering in a jail cell instead.

When 24 year old Kevin Rodriguez was evicted by his roommate, he decided to get even.

He returned to the home on Morningview Drive just as a new roommate was moving in and tried setting the building on fire.

Rodriguez grabbed a sledgehammer and took a swing at the new roommate before running away. The man was struck in the arm and was treated at the scene.

The incident was recorded on a cell phone and several people saw what happened so police had a good description of Rodriguez.

He was arrested Monday night on arson, assault and robbery charges.
