Nirenberg took the lead in the early voting results and finished with 51 percent.  The unofficial results, which aren’t official until the votes are canvassed, show Nirenberg got 2,675 more votes than Councilman Greg Brockhouse.

Brockhouse will remain on the San Antonio city council until his replacement is sworn in.  Attorney Melissa Cabello Havrda will take over the District 6 seat later this month after beating her opponent with 57 percent of the votes Saturday.

It was never close in the runoff between Adriana Rocha Garcia and Johnny Arredondo in the District 4 race.  Garcia finished with more than 72 percent of the votes.

She told KTSA News that in addition to sidewalks, lighting and quality of life issues, she’ll focus on growth and development in her Southwest Side district.

“We have a lot of land in District 4, but I want to make sure that it’s responsible growth–that we do not  create any type of displacement and that we start looking at how to create opportunities so that our current residents don’t fee like they’re being left out,” said Garcia.

Jada Andrews-Sullivan  won the District 2 runoff with 52  percent of the votes.   Keith Toney  had nearly 48 percent.  Andrews-Sullivan will replace Art Hall who was appointed to the District 2 seat when William Cruz Shaw stepped down to become a judge.

The three women will join city council members Roberto Trevino, Rebecca Viagran, Shirley Gonzales, Ana Sandoval, Manny Pelaez, John Courage, Clayton Perry and Mayor Ron Nirenberg.
