San Antonio Missions to play as Puffy Tacos for three games in 2020

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Missions will be donning a new alter ego for a weekend in 2020: the San Antonio Puffy Tacos.

The Missions will play three games on May 22-24 against the Iowa Cubs under this name and themed uniform.

The jersey itself will primarily look like a puffy taco shell with the player’s number and team “SA” logo on front burned onto it.  It will also also have the primary ingredients of a taco spilling out the front of it.

Additionally, the team will wear a “guacamole green” cap featuring a new logo of a puffy taco with green legs holding a pepper like a baseball bat.

“When people think of San Antonio’s food scene, they think of puffy tacos,” Missions President Burl Yarbrough said. “The puffy taco is a dish that is unique to our great city of San Antonio and is deserving of national recognition. These jerseys will showcase a little bit of what makes San Antonio so special to fans and the rest of the baseball world.”

Caps, jerseys, and t-shirts with the San Antonio Puffy Taco logo will be available for pre-order on the team’s website through February 21st.  It will be available in the team store the three days the team plays as this alter ego.
