SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Nurses perform acts of heroism every day…. even when they’re on vacation.

Two nurses from San Antonio proving that last weekend. They were on a charter fishing trip in Key Biscayne, Florida when they heard someone screaming for help from another boat.

Turns out, a man on that boat had been bitten by a shark.

The man was losing a lot of blood. Thankfully Christine Haines and Glaiza Martin were on the water.

The women grabbed the boat’s first aid kit and got to work. They managed to stop the bleeding, quite possibly saving the man’s life on the way back to port. He’s recovering at a Miami Hospital.

Haines’ husband DJ posted video of the rescue on his Facebook page.
