San Antonio Police Chief McManus: Several law enforcement agencies break up weekend street takeovers

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Several attempted street takeovers were broken up by area law enforcement Saturday night.

SAPD Chief William McManus posted on his X account that an officer spotted a vehicle driving recklessly during one street takeover attempt and when the driver tried to get away, his car blew a tire.

Officers then arrested four people on several charges.

Then on the West Side, another street takeover was broken up near the intersection of Latigo Drive and Harness Lane when officers stopped one of the drivers.

That person is facing gun and drug charges.

McManus says in the end, 8 vehicles were impounded.

McManus says SAPD, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Public Safety broke up the street takeover attempts.
