San Antonio Police: Homeless encampment swept away by storm water, one person rescued

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A homeless person had to be rescued after storm water washed away their encampment.

San Antonio police say it happened in the 8900 block of I-10 West and Tioga Drive.

The person was camped out in a drainage ditch when the rains came. At around 10:30 p.m., the water swept them away.

Crews were able to rescue the person who told firefighters there were others staying in the encampment.

Rescue workers have searched the area but haven’t located anybody else.
