San Antonio Police investigate shooting at west side apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is investigating a shooting at a west side apartment complex.

Police Chief William McManus says they were called to the Rosemont At Bethel Apartments on South Acme just before 10 this morning.

When they arrived, officers found two men in their late teens or early 20’s had been shot. One was deceased the other was rushed to a local hospital with what the Chief says are “non-life threatening” injuries.

The Chief believes the shooting stems from “illegal narcotic activity” that was taking place in the apartment.

Police are talking to residents to find out if anybody saw anything.

“I’ve gotten different information about who did the shooting. There’s been reports of the shooter escaping on foot. Reports that they escaped in a car.”

The Chief says they’ve been called to the apartment complex for a variety of reasons in the past.

He did not release the names of the gunshot victims.
