San Antonio police investigate shooting on Southwest Side, victim hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman is in the hospital after she was shot by a man she had been in a relationship with.

San Antonio police say it happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday on the Southwest Side.

The woman was driving near the intersection of Ray Ellison Boulevard and Southwest Loop 410. When she got to a stop light, she encountered a man she recently separated from.

The couple began to argue and at some point the man, reported to be in his 50’s, pulled a gun and shot the woman several times.

He then jumped in his car and took off.

The woman managed to drive to a family member’s home in Von Ormy where she called for help.

She was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to both arms and the back of her head. Police say she’s expected to recover.

The man who shot her is still on the run. Police know who he is but haven’t released his name.

The investigation is underway.
