San Antonio Police: Man in custody dies during medical evaluation

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — An investigation is underway after a man died while in police custody.
It happened Saturday morning.
San Antonio Police say they were called to the 1100 block of Bandera Road.
They arrived to find a man in his 40’s causing a disturbance. He was reportedly under the influence and was brought to a city facility for a medical evaluation.
But it was while he was there that the man became unresponsive. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
The cause if his death isn’t known. The Bexar County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
The SAPD’s Internal Affairs Department will conduct an investigation.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
