San Antonio Police Officer shot at while investigating stolen car complaint on the Southeast side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Five people are under arrest after somebody shot at a police officer on Monday on the Southeast Side.

The plainclothes officer was responding to a call about a stolen car and other stolen items at a home on Lennon Avenue.

The officer was parked near the house and was waiting for the rain to let up so he could get out to take a look at the vehicle’s license plate.

While he was parked, another vehicle rolled up next to his and someone inside started shooting.

The officer threw his car in reverse and managed to avoid getting shot.

He called for backup and watched as the shooter returned to the home on Lennon.

More officers showed up and arrested three men. A man and woman who showed up at the house a little later were also arrested.

Their names haven’t been released.
