SAPD: Pedestrian hit by pickup, dies on Northwest Side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Poor lighting may have contributed to the death of a man who was hit by a pickup on the Northwest Side.

San Antonio police say the man was crossing at the 8600 block of Huebner Road just before 8 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit.

Ambulance crews tried to keep the man alive but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released.

Police say the street lighting in the area isn’t very good and the man was not in the crosswalk when he was hit.

The driver who hit him did stop and waited for help to arrive. No charges are expected to be filed against him.
