SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio Police are investigating a fatal hit and run in the downtown area.

FOX 29 reports it was just after 9:30 P.M. Monday when a man who was crossing at the IH-10 and IH-37 interchange was hit by a car.

But the driver kept going, leaving the victim lying in the left lane of the poorly lit highway.

It took several hours for police to conduct their investigation and clear the scene which forced the closure of a portion IH-10.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Police say the man was wearing dark clothes and the driver likely didn’t see him but they will still be charged with failure to stop and render aid once they are located.
