San Antonio police: Speeding driver survives crash that splits car in half

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is trying to figure out how one man survived a crash that split his car in half.

Investigators say the man was driving well above the posted speed limit on Panama Street near South Presa around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

When the man drove over some railroad tracks, police say he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree.

The impact of the crash caused the man’s car to split in half.

Despite the severity of the crash, the man survived.

The driver’s name has not been released and there is no word on whether or not he will be charged.
