San Antonio Police: Teen in custody after shooting at officers on city’s East Side, no injuries reported

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A 15 year-old is facing several charges after shooting at San Antonio Police officers.

It happened just after 8 o’clock near the Rigsby and Tyne intersection on the city’s East side.

KENS 5 reports police arrived to find a man and his son standing in Tyne Drive. The teen had a gun in his hand and the father appeared to be trying to calm him down.

But as the officers got out of their cruisers, the teen began shooting at them.

No officers were shot but one of the patrol cars was hit.

Before officers could return fire, the boy’s father intervened, asking them to not shoot at his son.

The officers held their fire and the teen surrendered. He will be charged in juvenile court.

No names have been released and there’s been no word on why the teen shot at the officers.

This is a developing story and the investigation continues.
