San Antonio Police: Woman facing charges after leaving newborn baby along Northeast Side walking trail

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman is facing charges after giving birth to a baby, then leaving it near a walking trail.
San Antonio police say they were called at around 4 p.m. Tuesday to a walking trail near the 1900 block of Austin Highway.
Someone found the newborn and called for help.
Officers arrived and began searching the area. They found the woman a short distance away. She was detained for questioning.
The woman and the baby were both transported to a hospital for treatment and updates on their conditions are not available.
