San Antonio River Walk will light up early for the holidays

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The holiday lights that adorn the San Antonio River Walk every year will kick on a couple weeks early this year.

The decision to turn the more than 100,000 lights on early follows the lead from last year when city officials decided to kick off the holiday season a little early in an effort to bring spirits up during the pandemic.

The lights will come on at dusk for the first time on November 12 through January 10.

City officials will hold the official lighting ceremony during the Ford Holiday River Parade on Nov. 26.

The City of San Antonio and the San Antonio River Authority work together to light up the River Walk bend and in the Museum Reach area near the Historic Pearl District.
