San Antonio State Representative Pacheco resigning, accepts teaching position at San Antonio College

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A State Representative from San Antonio is giving up his seat in the Texas House.

Democrat Leo Pacheco says he will be resigning his District 118 seat to take a position at San Antonio College where he will teach public administration.  State law prohibits him from serving both roles simultaneously.

His resignation means a special election will have to take place. Governor Abbott will announce the date.

Pacheco’s district covers South and East Bexar County.

He was elected to that seat in 2018.
