San Antonio State Representative suffers mild heart attack
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A Texas State representative from San Antonio has suffered a mild heart attack that led to a preventative procedure.
State Rep. Ray Lopez suffered some discomfort in his chest early Sunday, which he thought was indigestion. Doctors determined it was a mild heart attack. Bypass surgery was scheduled Tuesday to treat symptoms of coronary artery disease, a condition that runs in his family.
Doctors say his health indicators are positive and Lopez remains in high spirits.
“I’m incredibly grateful that I was able to access care before it was too late,” said Lopez. ” I have the utmost confidence in the University Hospital staff and am eager to return home, spend time with my family and continue my preparation for the coming legislative session.”
