SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A local high school teacher is behind bars on charges that she sexually assaulted a student.

Police arrested 49 year old Jae Casey Steuart Thursday evening on charges of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and a student.

Steuart is a teacher at MacArthur High School and San Antonio Police say she allegedly began leaving written messages for a 16 year old student Tuesday, December 6.

She also gave the student her phone number and began communicating with him, planning to meet up later in the day.

At some point, she reportedly picked up the student at his apartment, brought him to a local motel room and sexually assaulted him.

He reported the assault to school officials the next day.

Steuart is denying the allegations.

San Antonio Police are asking any other victims to contact the Special Victim’s Unit or tell an adult that they trust.
