San Antonio teenager killed by stray bullet while playing video games in his West side apartment

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A teenager is dead after he was hit by a stray bullet during a shootout on the West side.

The teen was sitting in his apartment at the Gates of Capernum Apartments on Waters Edge Drive at around 3 A.M. Tuesday. He was playing video games when a bullet came through the wall, striking the boy in the head.

He was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at University Hospital.

A man who was involved in the shootout was hit in the groin. He’s at University as well and is expected to survive.

At this point, there is not a lot of information regarding the events leading up to the shootout and San Antonio Police are investigating. They did find a gun that was in a nearby vehicle but it’s not known if it was used in the shootout.

Officers are looking for three people who ran from the scene after the shooting.

A description of the three was not provided.
