San Antonio Water System chief gets pay raise and $100,000 performance bonus
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – The San Antonio Water System board has approved a 5-percent pay raise and a $100,000 performance bonus for President and CEO Robert Puente.
That brings Puente’s salary to nearly $497,000 a year.
The Express News reports SAWS trustees okayed the bonus and salary hike Tuesday after an evaluation by two consultants–ScottMadden Inc. based in Atlanta and Paradox Compensation Advisors of Dallas.
Board member David McGee, a bank CEO, said Puente is “worth every penny.”
SAWS has 1,700 employees and provides drinking water to more than 500,000 customers.
The Express News quotes McGee saying, “The big takeaways are that SAWS is an extremely well-run organization, and that Robert is worth every penny that we pay him.”
Puente’s evaluation results show that he had 88.57 points out of a possible 100.
