SAPD: 2 dogs, 1 cat dead after shots fired on West Side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The San Antonio Police Department is investigating after three animals ended up dead on the West Side on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the scene after a 36-year-old man said he had shot two dogs in the 9200 block of Adams Hill around 4:20 p.m. The man said he shot the dogs because they were attacking his cat in his yard.

Investigators say the man had taken his gun to scare the dogs, but he shot the two animals when they started showing aggression toward him.

Police say the cat was killed due to injuries caused by the attack.

No charges have been filed so far, but the investigation is ongoing.
